How it got made
Where it started
The first thing Luke did when he moved into his new apartment was paint the walls green. He started experimenting with new analog equipment, testing what he could do with sound and environment.
What changed
The original mixes were unresolved. Luke spent two years perfecting the sound and still couldn't hear the color green. He tried countless pieces of equipment and nearly gave up.
The mix
Luke stumbled on a stereo pair of analog tape emulators and combined them with a stereo widener, sending the mixes through both. The microphone was a vintage emulation of a C12. Luke called it creating the sound of birds, and so the name FILAMINGO was born.
